Corporate Counsel. Troy serves as corporate counsel to common interest developments throughout California. He provides judicious counsel to boards of directors, handles contract review, amends and restates governing documents, and provides legal opinions on general liability issues involving maintenance and insurance issues. Troy is adept at helping boards handle difficult situations involving challenging homeowners, board/committee in-fighting, harassment, theft of funds, emergency situations and bank loans. Troy also has litigation experience involving workplace violence restraining orders, breach of contract, fraud, and theft of association funds. Troy frequently conducts board of directors trainings and does presentations on new laws affecting homeowner associations.
Litigation. Prior to joining ADAMS|STIRLING, Troy gained valuable experience handling complex civil litigation involving breach of contract, fraud, trademark infringement, real estate disputes, intellectual property, and probate law.
Troy drafted agreements for cases that settled and took to trial those that did not. This included a Class Action lawsuit against lenders who inappropriately denied loan modifications and foreclosed on mortgages.
