R. Bruce Crowe




Corporate Counsel. Bruce works with homeowner boards of directors of common interest developments in litigation matters, contract matters, corporation compliance, and transactional matters. This includes attending meetings, provide legal counsel and advise boards during election meetings, investigations, rules enforcement, obtain insurance coverage for defense of lawsuits; and advising boards on neighbor-to-neighbor disputes where demand has been made upon the board of directors to enforce the covenants, conditions and restrictions running with the real property. Additional experience with construction contract review and interpretation, labor and employment issues, employee leave matters, insurance and safety disputes including Federal and CalOSHA matters, intellectual property protection, administrative law matters (including hearing practice for the corporation), interpretation of California and federal law and statutes for management.

Trial Work. Bruce has been a senior litigation attorney in construction defect cases in the area of residential housing defects in single family homes and heavy civil construction disputes in public and private construction contract matters. Duties included trial work as plaintiffs’ attorney, plus case preparation, mediation and settlement. He has extensive experience with expert witnesses and the taking and defending depositions.

HOA Management. Bruce is an active member of his homeowner’s association board of directors and also CAI. Previously he had worked as senior property manager attending board meetings, budgeting, minutes preparation, payment of bills, resolution of billing disputes, homeowner violation contacts, preparation of correspondence on behalf of the boards, property inspections, handling of homeowner inquiries and complaints, preparation and follow-up on violation allegations against individual association members, full preparation of election materials.
