Trial Attorney. Ron has extensive trial experience before both judges and juries for more than three decades. In addition to trial work and co-chairing our Litigation Department, he regularly handles all aspects of litigation and alternate dispute resolution, including client counseling, pleadings, discovery, motions, arbitrations, mediations, settlements, collections and appeals. He has represented clients in state and federal courts, including actions in California, Washington, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, Montana, Michigan, Massachusetts, North Carolina, New Jersey and Alabama.
Real Estate Litigation. One of the principal areas of Ron's practice is real estate disputes. He has a broad knowledge of real estate law, having helped clients in disputes involving homeowner associations, leases, land use regulations, foreclosures real estate sales contracts, construction defects, and construction collections. Ron also draws on his life before becoming an attorney, having spent years wearing a tool belt as a construction worker in his family's business.
Insurance Law. Ron has represented clients in insurance coverage disputes, including those arising from Commercial General Liability and Directors & Officers Liability policies. He has done so both as insurance panel counsel, independent (Cumis) counsel, and specially retained counsel.
Homeowners' Associations. Ron has extensive experience litigating homeowners' association claims, including disputes over elections, assessments, director qualifications. co-operatives, and violations of governing documents, He has represented our clients in civil harassment and workplace violence proceedings, shareholder derivative suits, collection actions and petitions to modify governing documents. Ron's experience in. HOA litigation includes internal dispute resolution, alternative dispute resolution (including arbitration), settlement and mediation conferences, trials and appeals.
General Civil Litigation. In addition to specialized practice, Ron has handled a broad range of civil litigation matters, including employment disputes, unfair competition, intellectual property claims, corporate governance fights, partnership battles, and commercial sales contracts. Many of his clients have been internationally based, including clients from China, Taiwan, England, Germany, France, Canada and Mexico. He also has served as pro bono legal counsel for the Volunteer League of the San Fernando Valley, a charity devoted to the providing clothing to needy children.
