Laura Whipple, Executive Director

Laura Whipple is Executive Director for Adams Stirling PLC. She oversees Firm operations, accounting, finance, compliance, insurance and benefits, attorney recruiting, and human resources.

Laura is on the Board of Directors of the Association of Legal Administrators - Greater Los Angeles. She is Chair of both the Education Committee, which coordinates the Chapter's continuing education offerings, and GLA-ALA's annual Employment Law Forum, and serves as Editor of the Chapter's quarterly magazine, Leadership Exchange. At the National level, Laura serves on the Nominating Committee for the Association of Legal Administrators, which has the responsibility of selecting the organization’s future leaders, including its Directors and President.

Laura belongs to UN Women, a branch of the United Nations, which is devoted to fostering gender equality. Their aim is to heighten awareness of women's leadership and political participation, economic empowerment, ending violence against women and promoting peace and security for women around the globe.

Laura holds a BA in European History and an MA in Medieval and Renaissance Studies. In addition, Laura is a paralegal and a member of the Los Angeles Paralegal Association, with a certificate in civil litigation.

Erica Greathouse, Chief Technology Officer

Erica Greathouse is the Firm's Chief Technology Officer. Prior to joining Adams Stirling, Erica spent 25 years overseeing implementation of law firm technology. For fourteen of those years, Erica served as Director of Information Technology for Cox, Castle & Nicholson, one of the largest full-service law firms specializing in real estate in the United States, with over 130 transactional and litigation attorneys.

Erica serves on the Board of Directors of Women in eDiscovery's Los Angeles Chapter, and is the IT Section Chair of the Association of Legal Administrators - Greater Los Angeles.

As our firm's CTO, Erica works closely with our Technology Committee to improve our legal services through technological innovation.

Among other things, Erica oversees our eDiscovery procedures, telecom operations, internet and intranet sites, video conferencing, social media policies, and risk management.

Jean Jewell, Chief Financial Officer
Jean Jewell, CLM is the Firm’s Chief Financial Officer. She has worked in a wide variety of roles in firms ranging from boutiques to AMLAW 200 Firms, and operated her own legal service business for several years.


Jean earned her BA in Music from Yale University and her Certified Legal Manager (CLM) designation from the Association of Legal Administrators. As CFO, Jean has assumed a strategic role in the financial operations and management of the firm.


Jean is active in many professional organizations. She is a Director on the Board of the Association of Legal Administrators, a Past-President of the Association of Legal Administrators - Greater Los Angeles, and currently chairs its Communications. Jean is also a former Board member of the US National Committee for UN Women.


Sue Anderson, Director of Marketing and Client Relations

Sue Anderson is Director of Marketing and Client Relations for the firm and also oversees the Inland Empire and Coachella Valley.

Sue previously worked for a large agency handling Fortune 100 companies. This was followed by a position as Director of Business Development for the 4th largest security services company in the U.S.

Melina Drazich, Director of Administration, Northern California

Melina Drazich, CMCA® is Director of Administration, Northern California. Melina has over a decade of experience in multiple areas of the common interest development industry. Her areas of expertise include escrow processing, association accounting, new community forward planning and client relations. With a true passion for the HOA industry, Melina is committed to providing superior customer service that enhances the daily operation of associations.

As an active member of Community Associations Institute, Melina serves on multiple committees and earned the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) designation in 2015.

Candace Schwartz, Client Relations Director, San Diego

Candace Schwartz Candace Schwartz is our Client Relations Director for San Diego.

Prior to joining Adams Stirling, Candace earned her design degree from UCLA. She was a commercial interior designer for 10 years in the LA area. Candace spent 25 years in sales, marketing and customer service, as well as 10 years in management and client education.

David Rico, Client Relations Director, Southern California

David Rico is the Client Relations Director for Southern California. He oversees Los Angeles County, Ventura County and Orange County.

David has an eye for process. He started his career as the central administrator of a boutique law firm in Ventura County before moving on to become the General Manager of a Ventura County CID Management Company. David specializes in Association Accounting, Project Management, Legal Compliance, and Risk Management.

David studied Business Administration and Finance at Cal State Northridge University and has been involved in the administration of Non-Profit organizations for 3+ years. David is a native Spanish speaker, enjoys volunteering with local non-profits and currently sits on the Board of the National Latino Peace Officers Association. Client Relations Director, Northern California

Miranda Ward, CMCA® is Client Relations Director, Northern California. Miranda came to us after 5+ years as a Community Manager in the Northern California region with previous employment accolades in the Title and Escrow industry. With a true commitment to continuing education, Miranda serves as Chair of the Education Committee for Community Association Institute – California North Chapter.

Carolyn Houtz, Paralegal

Carolyn Houtz is a paralegal/legal assistant. She works with our attorneys handling legal filings, discovery and general litigation matters, and interacts with clients.

Carolyn is outstanding when it comes to working with clients. They love working with her and aren't shy about saying so. Carolyn is not only passionate about her job, she is passionate about her two children and sports. She gives the guys a run for their money when it comes to baseball and football.

Alejandra Alvarez, Legal Assistant

Alejandra Alvarez is a legal assistant. She provides administrative support to the firm's attorneys and staff.

Alejandra brings an exceptional work ethic and six years of administrative experience, and is extremely goal-oriented.

Alejandra is a certified Legal Secretary, having received her certification from UCLA's Legal Secretary Program.

Tammi Saucer, Executive Assistant to Laura Whipple

Tammi Saucer, Executive Assistant to Laura Whipple, provides exceptional administrative support to the Firm and its clients. Her duties include assisting with human resources and benefits, insurance, and coordination of Firm events.

Tammi, who has an incredible 35 years' experience in administrative support in the medical field, joined our team in November 2016.

Mathew Medina, A+ Certified® Technician

Mathew Medina, A+ Certified® Technician, is the Firm's IT Support Specialist, and assists our Chief Technology Officer by being first in line to handle Help Desk and computer hardware issues. He also researches solutions to tech support issues and participates in special IT projects. Everyone at the Firm loves his can-do attitude, as well as the friendly smile on his face and in his voice.

Mathew, who initially joined the Firm in a temporary capacity, became our full-time Receptionist in March 2017, and was a Legal Assistant prior to his promotion to his current role. He came to us fresh out of Cal State Northridge, where he earned his degree in Sociology.

Xochitl Vazquez, Firm Receptionist

Xochitl Vazquez, pronounced "So-chi" but known affectionately around the office as "X," is the Firm's Receptionist (aka "communication control guru"). She comes to us as a new graduate of Mount Saint Mary's University, where she earned a BA in Sociology. Xochitl continues to pursue her education, and is currently studying an ABA-approved curriculum to earn her Certificate of Achievement for Paralegal.

Quynh Mai, Legal Assistant

Quynh Mai is a paralegal in our San Jose office, where she assists in general corporate matters and provides administrative support. She received her paralegal certificate from Evergreen Valley College, where she pursued her Associate's degree, and has previously worked in family and immigration law. With more than 7 years' experience working directly with clients, Quynh strives to ensure all matters are handled efficiently with attention to detail.

In her free time, she enjoys cooking for her family and traveling.

Rhonda Buha, Administrative Assistant

Rhonda Buha is an administrative assistant working out of our Los Angeles office. She provides administrative support throughout the firm. For the past 30 years, Rhonda has worked with management companies and homeowners’ associations as an administrative legal assistant, both in transactional and litigation matters.

Outside of work, Rhonda’s lifelong passion has been the world of ballet. She still manages to take classes 4 times a week.

Kim Abdallah

Kim Abdallah is a paralegal and works in our Stockton office. She has over 28 years of experience in multiple areas of the legal profession as a paralegal, legal secretary, collections manager, accounting, billing, and notary public. Kim oversees the firm’s governing document restatement program.

Sonia Anavisca

Sonia Anavisca is an experienced legal assistant who works with the firm’s litigation team. She handles legal filings and drafting discovery and Judicial Council forms for review by the attorneys she works with. Sonia earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Law from the University of California, San Diego.
